Community Partnerships
Working closely with our communities and helping facilitate access to specialty care is a vital aspect of Pride Sports Medicine. Dr Carpio-Bracho and Dr Gutierrez continue to foster relationships with local schools to help train our future medical professionals.
California Health Sciences University College of Osteopathic Medicine
We are currently associate clinical faculty at the California Health Sciences University College of Osteopathic Medicine. We precept 3rd and 4th year medical students at Pride Sports Medicine where we become an integral part of our sports medicine team. Students also learn to evaluate and treat a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, as well as gain knowledge on the importance of prevention and performance training from a community centered lens.
Fresno State Master of Science in Athletic Training
We serve as medical directors of the Master of Science in Athletic Training at Fresno State where we advise and help maintain the most up to date treatment guidelines. Furthermore, we also assist in the training of future athletic trainers in areas like suturing, casting, splinting, and joint reductions.
Washington Union High School
Dr. Carpio-Bracho and Dr. Gutierrez are part of the newly established school-based clinic at Washington Union High School where they work closely with their Health Institute Coordinator Tony Peña, M.Ed, ATC, CES. The school-based clinic provides a facility where their medical assistant students can obtain their required clinical hours while also helping to address access issues to healthcare in the area by seeing students, athletes, school staff, and coaches regardless of insurance status.
